We think our Retractable Opening Roofs and Sun Louvre systems are pretty clever. Providing homeowners and buildings with the additional feature of being able to retract the louvres back when you want to enjoy the sky above and then extend them back in to place when you want a comfortable haven.
Years in the making working collaboratively with Advanced Design Innovations, engineers and the Louvretec design team have ensured the retract roof is of a premium standard.
- Two new Retractable Opening Roofs, including a new frame and extra wide gutter system.
- A range of retractable configurations to customise your installation to suit your style. Choose from either a three sided open end design with the louvres stack up one way or four sided design with one way or centre opening options.
- Louvre design incorporates a unique cushion closing feature enhancing the smooth quiet operation and combined with superior blade overlap and you have a very watertight shading solution.
- System is motorised by powerful twin Somfy Tubular motors, a multi-purpose Louvretec controller comes as standard. The system can also be configured for home automation technology.
Retract Roof Gallery
Set the scene of your choice with our retractable roof options. The blades retract back so you can enjoy the sky above depending on your preferences. Whether you want the roof open fully or the louvres angled just enough to soak in a bit of sunlight or so you can gaze at the view, our beautifully engineered louvres are ideal for any home.

Anodising
Is a electrochemical process that binds a layer of aluminium oxide to the surface of the aluminium so it becomes ingrained. You can see and feel the texture of the metal, it is also harder than a powder coat finish. Beautiful, deep metallic colours can be achieved with anodising. The process enhances and heightens the natural look of aluminium.
Wood Grains
Heat bonded on to our aluminium louvres this woodgrain finish looks and feels like timber, it is a durable and lower maintenance finish. Because of the aluminium materials used by the Louvretec® product range, our louvres are more durable than timber and not prone to warping, splitting or shrinking in the weather.
Timber frames will absorb light while aluminium louvres reflect it and bounce it around creating a light, airy feel. Wood grain finishes provide a warm classic and timeless look with the assurance of durability.
There are seven wood grain finishes & shades including beautiful, subtle pale timber colours such as light cedar through to reddish, and darker colours such as the popular Black Riverwood.

Frequently Asked Questions
Unlike wooden pergolas that are most often built in a backyard, Retractable opening roofs are best suited to connect your home to the outdoors, giving you even more room to relax, entertain or just take in the moment.
There are a number of key issue that impact on costs. Factors like (a) Do you need us to also provide frame and posts (b) the number of bays and the spans of the louvres, generally you want to reduce the number of bays and keep the span as wide as you need, (c) Selections such as finishes and louvre profiles and (d) site conditions. Email or call us and we would be happy to discuss your project and provide an estimate. A broad range of price range would be from $2400 to $3000 per square meter.
We would advise you to check with your local council before any work starts. Under the National Construction Code, Louvretec roofs are classed as 10a Permeable Minor Structures and your Council can inform you of any regulations that apply in particular to your property and inform you about the building application process. Factors like boundary set-backs, fire wall separation, structure height and weather you are replacing an existing structure or starting new can impact on your design and approval progress. We can assist with your application and create all the plans, drawings and drafting your application. Talk to us about your plans. For further information:
